Gouvia Corfu Holiday Resort.

GOUVIA resort - overlooking spectacular Kommeno Bay- is the site of Corfu's largest yachting marina and the launching point of most of the island's flotilla and bareboat holidays, although the mainly Scandinavian German and British holidaymakers far outnumber boaters. Gouvia enjoys a rural location, set, as it is among olive groves and cypress trees, but don't be fooled into thinking it's a quiet little hamlet. has become one of the most popular tourist destinations on the island, offering both lively nightlife and quiet hillside spots. However, the centre itself has a rather cramped feel and there is a one-way system in operation along the main strip. The resort has a definite nautical ambience: it boasts a large yacht marina and was once an historic Venetian naval base ? at one end of the beach you will find a ruined Venetian arsenal and the precariously beached wreck of a yacht. Adjoining Gouvia is the quiet village of Kontokali while 1 ml inland is Danila, a purpose-built, Greek-style village where folklore performances are organised for evening trips.

Marina

Gouvia Marina, the first privately owned marina in Greece, is situated about 7 kilometers from the town of Corfu and the International Airport. For many years seamen considered the harbor and the bay of Gouvia a natural link between the Adriatic and the Mediterranean Sea as well as a port of call, where they could sail in, to repose, enjoying the climate and the beauties of the island.

The Marina, fully organised, offering facilities and services of high standards, has been operating under the new management since 1996. The total capacity is 960 berths, on both permanent and floating pontoons, while there are dry dock facilities for approximately 520 boats. Moorings are available for boats up to 80 meters long and with 6 meters draught and for period up to 20 years.
